Focusly

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2025‑09‑04

Focusly is a browser extension and companion site designed to help you stay focused. It is privacy‑first by design: all data processing happens locally in your browser, and Focusly does not transmit your data to any server.

Data We Process

  • Time spent per URL (http/https only), used to generate your local stats
  • Preferences such as Focus Mode status, blocked sites, and weekly schedule

Data We Do Not Collect

  • No data is transmitted to a remote server
  • No personal information or page contents are collected
  • No third‑party analytics

Permissions (Extension)

  • tabs and host_permissions to attribute time to websites (http/https only)
  • storage to save data locally
  • declarativeNetRequest to block distracting sites during Focus Mode
  • webNavigation to enforce blocking on reload/SPA navigations
  • alarms for minute‑level time flush and schedule evaluation
  • idle to pause timing when you’re idle or the device is locked

Data Retention and Control

  • All data remains on your device until you remove it
  • You can clear data by uninstalling the extension (or via future reset in Options)

Children’s Privacy

Focusly is not intended for children under 13.
